Volunteer Experiences

As a community member and teacher, I believe it is important to volunteer. Being able to give back to my community and helping others is very fullfilling, and I hope that I am able to do more in the future.

Some of the volunteer experiences I have had include:

Classroom Volunteer

Senator Buchanan Elementary School, Lethbridge

After completing my internship, I was able to return to the school on a couple of days between April and June to assist with:

  • Supervision on a field-trip to Cardston.

  • Helping during a grade 1/2 pancake breakfast.

  • Recess supervision.

Homework Program Volunteer

Boys & Girls Club of Lethbridge, Spring 2014.

  • General homework assistance for students who dropped-in, one hour per week.

Vice President Internal

Education Undergraduate Society, University of Lethbridge, Fall 2013.

  • Attended weekly meetings and held office hours to assist other Education students with a variety of needs.

  • Acted as a liasion between students and the Faculty of Education.

  • Planned events where faculty members and students could meet.

  • Organized and ran a charity drive, Bust the Backpack. Through this drive, I was able to collect and deliver school supplies for local students and schools in need.

Section Representative

Education Undergraduate Society, University of Lethbridge, Spring 2013.

  • Acted as a liasion between my classmates and the Education Undergraduate Society council.

  • Attended weekly meetings.

Job Fair Volunteer

University of Lethbridge, Spring 2013

  • Worked at the registration booth, signing in school district representatives and students.

  • Assisted with various duties as needed.

Provincial Achievement Test Reader

Ecole St. Mary, June 2011

  • Test reader for a grade three student during his social studies and language arts Provincial Achievement Tests.

Highway Clean-up Volunteer
